We took a field trip for my Sociology class to Brick Lane today. It is a very different part of London than I am used to. I didn't like the area very much and I didn't really enjoy the tour much either. We were supposed to be seeing Brick Lane in particular, but only spent a few minutes on it...and it wasn't even the best part of it! The tour guide mostly just informed us about the history around the parts of Brick Lane by showing us every synagogue/jewish ANYTHING that was in the area. Not that I'm against that...but I didn't think it had much to do with our class, and by the end of it everyone seemed to be bored to death and dying to get away. Especially me, since I had plans to go to Chichester that evening! I have enjoyed the other field trips for the most part and they have all been informative and relevant to the course that I am taking, but this one just seemed to me as a waste of time. Also, I went on a Jack the Ripper tour on Tuesday and saw a lot of the same things that I already did (and on Tuesday I decided I despised the certain area of London and didn't want to go back) Our tour group looked so out of place and we got a lot of weird stares from the locals.

Filming a movie |
According to our tour guide...a lot scenes from shows/movies have been filmed in front of this house |
Where one of Jack the Ripper's murders took place I'm pretty sure |
After the tour was over, I made my hour-long tube ride trek back to the flat to pack for Chichester! We had a nice calm train ride and a great steak meal waiting on us when we arrived. Kiley and I were SO thankful to finally lay in a bed that didn't feel like a floor for the first time in over a month!
